The year is 1836 and Captain William Maroon is tasked with crewing a ship to pay off his debt to King William IV. Unfortunately Captain Maroon's lackluster and possibly cursed reputation precedes him, and the best crew members make themselves unavailable. In fact the average ones make themselves unavailable also, leaving only the scum, the scurge, and the downright silly to make the compliment. His ideas are outlandish, his behaviour is irrational, and his sense of adventure is as fertile as ever. Maroon has captained many ships but always failed to return with one, Finally he believes that this will be the trip that sees his boat come in, but he did think that once or twice before.
Iron Pirates By David J Lacey Is Silly Beyond Any Belief. Just Silly. Good Unclean Fun, But Silly.
A Captain that isn't even the master of his own destiny let alone the ship. A crew made up of deadbeats, lowlifes, and six time losers. A King hellbent on revenge, and reward.
This story has all the makings of a very tedious plot, and all the ingredients of a very contrived bird cage liner.
HE CAME. HE SAW. HE LEFT. HE RETURNED. HE PRATTED ABOUT. HE LEFT AGAIN.
